Each of the five short films stands alone, but they are all linked together by the fact that they were all originally told by the same storyteller; Jesus. The series explores different themes within the parables and seeks to bring out their relevance for a 21st-century audience.
All five stories are retellings of the parables of Jesus, found in the gospel accounts of Matthew, Mark and Luke. These films are by no means meant to replace biblical text, but rather connect people to it.
roarlight was founded in 2017 as a faith-based production company in the UK. The Parables Retold is their first major production and has been their main focus since they started.
